Quick Start

Get your first Odoo service running in minutes.

This guide walks you through the essential steps to go from your invitation to a running Odoo instance.

Step 1: Join your team #

calmo.cloud is invitation-based: your team is created for you and you receive an e-mail invitation. Follow the link to create your account and join the Team. Teams are how calmo.cloud organizes everything — servers, services, members, and settings all belong to a team.

If you were invited as the team's owner, a short Set up your team wizard asks for your backup storage, an SSH key and, optionally, a server provider before you continue.

Step 2: Add a server #

Navigate to Servers in the sidebar and click New Server. You'll need:

  • The IP address of your server (a VPS from providers like Hetzner, DigitalOcean, or AWS)
  • An SSH private key for secure access

Once the server is saved, click Check Reachability to verify the SSH connection, then Install Docker. Finally, enable Postgres and Traefik on the server's configuration page and save — calmo.cloud installs and configures both. The server is ready for Odoo once all of these are green.

Step 3: Create an Odoo service #

Go to Projects → Odoos in the sidebar and click New Odoo. Fill in:

  • Name — A friendly name for this instance (e.g., "My Company ERP")
  • Version — Choose between 18.0, 19.0 or 20.0
  • Server — Select the server you just added (only servers that are ready for Odoo are listed)
  • Type — Start with Test for trying things out, or Live for production

Click Create and calmo.cloud will deploy your Odoo instance automatically.

Step 4: Access your Odoo instance #

Once the service is running, you'll see the status turn green. Click on the service to find:

  • Your Odoo URL where you can access the web interface
  • The admin credentials to log in for the first time

Your Odoo instance is now live. You can start configuring it, installing modules, and inviting users.
